Informatics for Accountancy

Informatics for Accountancy (DRAFT - work in progress) is a summary of information which I have collected and synthesized over the past 25 or so years.  It provides a solid foundation of digital proficiency, it provides fundamental digital literacy.  This is a first step in becoming a freemason of the information age.


After you reach the level of digital literacy, then you can work on digital fluency and mastery.  Brick-by-brick modern accountancy will be built out.  Accountancy for the information age.

Relational Knowledge Graph System (RKGS) is an interesting idea that combines the relational paradigm and the knowledge graph paradigm.  This documentation, Why RKGS , explains the idea. Graph Hairball

Knowledge graph system logic, the "things" and "relations between things" that  graph theory calls "vertices" (a.k.a. nodes, points, entities, things) and "edges" (a.k.a.  links, lines, relations, associations), looks like a big graph hairball as some people call it an example of which you can see here: Why?  This common view of a graph is because there has to be some "general view" of the information provided by the graph.  This is just like a general view of the information within a relational database is a table ; a set of ROWS and COLUMNS for exactly one table at a time. So what is interesting is that with a graph database the default view is everything in the graph of knowledge.  Whereas the default view of everything in a relational database is one table at a time. World's First Standards Based Expert System for Creating Financial Reports

Allow me to introduce you to what I believe is the world's first standards based expert system for creating financial reports .  This expert system is not for creating "standardized" form type reports.  This  expert system is for creating "customized" financial reports such as those necessary when reporting per robust financial reporting schemes such as US GAAP and IFRS. This is not a "bolt on" solution like what many other software vendors seem to have created.  This is a paradigm shift.   This blog post explains the difference between standardized and customized approaches.
